Open Position: Mechanical Designer

ED Design is a Scandinavian, internationally awarded design agency. We design and engineer intelligent products, services and working environments for clients such as Valtra, Hyster-Yale, Hiab, and Sandvik. Our approach to all our assignments is comprehensive and user-centered.

Now we are looking for a

MECHANICAL DESIGNER

to work in automotive and offroad vehicle design projects.

As a member of our team, you are an innovative explorer who looks at the world of design holistically. You are not afraid to take a role in project leadership and as a team player. You enjoy working with other R&D specialists contributing to the same project. Your primary seat is in Turku, but you are also open to on-site work at our customer’s premises.

As a Mechanical Designer, you excel in designing manufacturable parts and in solving mechanical problems. You understand that designs need to be functional, usable and aesthetically pleasing, and are not afraid to participate in Industrial Design. You also enjoy applying User-Centric Design methods and working at the Prototype Workshop. Even though your primary focus will be on vehicle design, you are open to exploring other fields of expertise.

Preferably, your 3D CAD of choice is Creo, Solidworks or CATIA – or maybe more than one of them. Feel free to present us your competence in design and visualization tools.

You will get a good idea of the kind of person we are looking for by reading our blog Blueprint for a Perfect Designer. The first five skills listed in the blog are considered as a minimum requirement for all designers at ED. Considering the five first as a starting point, please pick two or more skills that best describe you as a designer. Then write a short a description of how these skills translate into your daily work and portfolio. Additionally, please include a CV and a portfolio of your work with your application.

At ED Design, you will be a member of an experienced team of designers and will get a chance to work for diverse clients on diverse design projects.

We offer a full-time, permanent position. Starting date can be mutually agreed on.

The positions will be filled as soon as we find suitable candidates.
