Award-winning design partnership since 1986
Over more than three decades, Valtra’s and ED Design’s continuous design co-operation has deepened to a profound strategic partnership and won numerous international design awards.
Today, Valtra stands as the world leader in tractor design. The iconic sloping bonnet design, first introduced two decades ago, is still being widely copied by other brands worldwide. Recent design innovations are setting new standards for usability and productivity. And the future looks bright — Valtra’s autonomous tractors are already setting new world records.
We are proud to be a part of Valtra’s success.

The Valtra T4 series, resulting from seven years R&D, is the first of a new generation in which technical innovations and a whole new look are brought together.
The clean exterior lines look good, and underlying design work has focused on usability, ergonomics, safety, durability, serviceability and, ultimately, the productivity of the machine.
The controls have been positioned to minimise the required manoeuvres. A novel lever makes operating the gear is easy. Special attention was given to components requiring daily management: checking the oil level and cleaning the filters has been made as swift as possible.
Designed for the Driver
The new frame structure allowed an optimal bonnet design. The top section of the cab arches outwards to provide plenty of space at shoulder and elbow height. The tractor tapers downward to offer compact external dimensions. A total of six square metres of window area guarantee great visibility in all directions. The outcome is a cab with excellent visibility at every hour of the day in all seasons, even during reversing and when operating a front loader.

This success is a result of constant, close co-operation with our customers”, says Valtra’s EME Marketing Manager Mikko Lehikoinen.
“Machine of the Year” is one of the most prestigious prizes in the agricultural machines industry. It is awarded for important innovations concerning technology and performance. “Red Dot” stands as the most recognized design prize in the world.
Designed Success
The fourth generation Valtra tractors have been a sales success ever since they were launched. The tractors have won several international prizes: The T4 Series have been awarded Best Design 2016, Red Dot 2016 and Machine of the Year 2015, and the N4 Series have won the Golden Tractor for the Design 2016, Machine of the Year 2016, and Red Dot 2018. Recently, A4 Series won a Red Dot in 2018 on basis of its high-class industrial design. The A Series Hitech 4 also won the Machine of the Year 2019 award.
